Where it all began
Born from a love of classic cars
Bill Rawles started his first classic car restoration business over 30 years ago from his workshop in the south of England, specialising in Austin-Healeys and establishing the Rawles family name and reputation around the world.
Bill sold his first business in 2007 to set up Bill Rawles Classic Cars Ltd, a family venture with sons Charlie and Jack, specialising in all makes of classic car. With Bill firmly at the helm with his wealth of experience and knowledge, Bill Rawles Classic Cars has grown to cover all aspects of classic car restoration, maintenance and sales with quality control and attention to detail of the upmost importance. Bill has been involved in historic motorsport for over 20 years and has campaigned his Austin-Healey 3000 to many podium places. Race and rally preparation, event support and transportation are a growing part of our business.

Experts in classic car servicing
Servicing your car is an integral part of maintenance and reliability, and as a standard we will check all the critical safety factors such as chassis, brakes, tyres, fluid levels and electronics are working as they should, before another year of happy motoring. Whilst an MOT is not mandatory for some classic cars, our safety check should not be a substitute. We recommend testing the car annually and some insurance companies may require a valid MOT, which we can also provide if desired/required.

Established in 2007 by husband and wife Vanessa & Flavien Marcais, the @gtandsportscarcup celebrates its 20th season in 2026, bringing together beautifully prepared pre-1966 GTs and pre-1963 Sports Racers for mini endurance races and wonderful off-track hospitality. ๐
A full grid of 39 cars battled across six classes, with our focus on Team Rawles, Alex Hewitson/Jack Rawles pairing and our customer Simon Niesler/Murray Shepherd.
It was an action-packed 90 minutes with two driver changes and two yellow flags!

After an eight-year break, the Austin-Healey marque race made a very welcome return to the Autumn Classic, in the spirit of the Healey Driver International events of yore.
A fantastic 26-car grid brought together some of todayโs best-known Healey racers, including the legendary DD300, a former works car raced at Le Mans in 1961 & 1962.๐
With 11 Healey 3000s, 10 Sprites, 3 Healey 100s and 2 Ashley GTs, the scene was set for a very special race.

Remembering Piper Cams director and ardent Austin-Healey 3000 racer, Ian Cox.
The inaugural Ian Cox Memorial Trophy Race was curated by Derek Burles, Joe Cox and race sponsor Bill Rawles Classic Cars, with the blessing of Ianโs family โ celebrating Ianโs passion for racing and the Healey community.
A fantastic grid of 26 Austin-Healeys took to the track, including 11 AH 3000s, 3 AH 100S, 10 Sprites and 2 Ashley GTs. ๐
After qualifying, Bill started 5th and made a brilliant start, reaching 2nd by the first corner. After dropping back to 5th, he fought hard with the lead pack before Marc Campfieldโs engine failure and Ollie Marcais running wide allowed Bill to regain 2nd.
The chequered flag fell:

A massive congratulations to Mike Russell, who drove an incredible race to take the inaugural Ian Cox Memorial Trophy. ๐๐
Back at the Bill Rawles Classic Cars awning, prize giving continued โ and Bill was delighted to receive the Ian Cox Spirit of Motorsport Award, recognising outstanding sportsmanship, commitment and the spirit of Healey racing.
โI was very pleased with the result and then to be awarded The Ian Cox Spirit of Motorsport Award was the icing on the cake.โ
Having Billโs two sons, their partners and grandchildren there to support him made the weekend even more special. Sharing such an important moment together as a family meant an enormous amount.
A huge thank you to Derek Burles, Joe Cox, Castle Combe Circuit, our race team, marshals, competitors and, of course, the Cox family for making this special race possible and honouring Ianโs memory so fittingly.

This yearโs Autumn Classic was a particularly special weekend as Castle Combe Circuit celebrated 50 years of Castle Combe Circuit Ltd.
Back in 1976, Howard Strawford played a pivotal role in securing the future of the circuit. Half a century later, Castle Combe is celebrating the people, cars and memories that have shaped this very special place over the past 50 years. ๐ ๐
Running alongside those celebrations was something equally special within the Austin-Healey community โ the inaugural Ian Cox Memorial Trophy, held in memory of Ian Cox, the much-loved Austin-Healey 3000 historic racing driver who sadly passed away in 2024.
The brand-new dedicated Austin-Healey race took place on Saturday 12th September, promoted by Derek Burles, with the help of Joe Cox and Ianโs late wife, Mel Cox, as our very special Guest of Honour.
The weekend began on Friday evening with drivers and their families gathering for a trackside supper in the marquee โ a wonderful opportunity to share stories, raise a glass and remember Ian.
Joe Cox opened the evening with a few words. A hugely important figure within the Healey community since the early 1980s, Joe has played a pivotal role in Healey Driver International and was instrumental in establishing the first major international all-Healey race grid at Montlhรฉry, France, in 1987. ๐ฌ๐ง๐ซ๐ท๐บ๐ธ
It was lovely to welcome Peter Healey, Donald Healeyโs grandson, while Paul Campfield, who raced alongside Ian during his racing years, kept us entertained with some wonderfully funny stories from the era. There was plenty of laughter, reminiscing and, of course, a toast to Ian. ๐ฅ
A fitting way to begin a very special weekend โ celebrating 50 years of Castle Combe, the Austin-Healey racing community, and the people whose passion keeps these cars and their stories alive.

At Goodwood today for the @motorracinglegends test day. Simon got to grips with learning a new track and a great first track day for 21 year old Louis who took everything in his stride. No mean feat.

Another Lancia Aurelia popping by for some repairs. This car has a slipping clutch.
On the road, the aurelia is sophisticated for its time. A decent V6 engine gives nippy performance for the era as well as decent drum brakes for stopping. It would be an understatement to mention the fact that these Italian cars were slightly overengineered and where a simple solution could be provided, a much, much more complicated design was always imagined. But this makes for a huge amount of character throughout the car.
The clutch is situated in the transaxle and this will be disassembled for rebuild.

This Volvo was unfortunately involved in an accident this summer. The car was written off by the insurance company and the salvage was purchased by the owner. BRCC have been entrusted to get this Volvo back on the road. You know, they built them strong!
A few days have been spent now pulling and beating the metal back into a more recognisable shape.

Every single one of our 2026 meets has enjoyed fantastic support, with wonderful numbers turning up to enjoy classic cars, homemade cakes, coffee and great company โ all while helping us raise money for charity.

This final summer meet was no exceptionโฆ a fantastic attendance, an incredible variety of classic cars and, best of all, so many happy faces. We were also blown away by the distance some of you guys and girls drive to attend! Thank you to Ryan of @ahspares for joining us as well.
Seeing you all chatting, laughing, catching up and simply enjoying yourselves truly fills our hearts with joy. ๐ฅฐ
What started as a simple idea has grown into such a wonderful community, and we are incredibly proud of what Natters & Nibbles has become. Thank you for coming along, supporting our charity events and, most importantly, for all your kind words and positive feedback. It means more to us than you know.

A fun, friendly, informal morning, when our yard becomes a classic car car park - itโs a fabulous sight to see everyone socialising and enjoying our hospitality.
The event is free, we provide the refreshments and just ask that you make a donation into one of our charity pots.

GT & Sports Car Cup | 90 Minutes of Racing
Established in 2007 by husband and wife Vanessa & Flavien Marcais, the GT & Sports Car Cup celebrates its 20th season in 2026, bringing together beautifully prepared pre-1966 GTs and pre-1963 Sports Racers for mini endurance races and wonderful off-track hospitality. ๐
A full grid of 39 cars battled across six classes, with our focus on Team Rawles, Alex Hewitson/Jack Rawles pairing and our customer Simon Niesler/Murray Shepherd.
It was an action-packed 90 minutes with two driver changes and two yellow flags!

๐ฅ 2nd & 1st in Class โ Alex Hewitson / Jack Rawles โ AH 3000

A fabulous result for Team Rawles, bringing home more silverware and making for a very happy podium! ๐๐ฅ
But this race was about so much more than resultsโฆ โค๏ธ
Father and sons racing together โ @billrawles Charlie Rawles & Jack Rawles โ creating a memory to treasure.
It was wonderful to have Charlie back on track after nearly 10 years away. He certainly hadnโt lost his race craft, skill or speed, and we were all incredibly proud of him.
And watching proudly from the sidelines were his number one fans โ sons Freddie (2) and Max (1) and partner Harriet Rhodes ๐ฅฐ๐
