First delivered to Kent, this Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII has been in current ownership for just over ten years, with regular servicing and MOTs taking place over that time. This particular Austin-Healey is an original UK RHD, one of around 1,100 RHD BJ8 home market cars from the total of 17,500 built and primarily dispatched overseas. It is believed to have spent some time on the Channel Islands at some point in it’s life.
Prior to it’s current ownership, a small amount of sympathetic bodywork took place to keep the car in good condition, and the current owner has invested in an interior re-trim near the beginning of his ownership including seat belts being fitted. The engine was also fully rebuilt, machined and balanced built with all new components as required by us here at Bill Rawles Classic Cars, and the car has covered around 5000 miles since then. Other points to note are the fact that an alternator conversion has been completed and a hi-torque starter has been fitted during the engine re-build adding to the car’s reliability. The car is showing 75,000 miles which is believed to be genuine.
The car comes with a large history file, with a large number of receipts, invoices and some photos of the car over the years. The current owner is a member of Austin-Healey clubs and regularly takes part in runs in the summer months. The car is kept garaged and sees no use over the winter months.
