For sale, this 1955 Austin Healey 100 BN1, Left the factory on the 31st of April 1955. Only approximately 10% of Austin-Healey produced at this time remained in the UK market, delivered new to Car Mart Limited London. It left the factory painted Ice Blue but now finished as you see the car today, in Old English white. This Healey is an original right hand drive home market car and benefits from restoration in the late 2000’s and has been lovingly owned by its current owner since 2015.
Between 2007 and 2009, the car received structural and mechanical restoration carried out by JME Healey’s, with works totalling nearly £20,000. Major works included: Front and rear end body work, replacement sills and a detailed mechanical overhaul. Additionally, the gearbox was rebuilt in 2011 and has been upgraded to a 4 speed BN2 gearbox. The car is still in a good condition and holds up well to close inspection.
The interior was retrimmed in 2009 changing from blue to black seats and matching door cards, finishing the car nicely. A large file of documentation accompanies the sale, providing detailed records of all work carried out, a current V5C and heritage certificate is also included.
The car was originally finished in Healey Ice Blue, but during restoration, the vehicle was painted old English white, as you see the car today, it presents well with a few age-related marks. Notably, a crack on the boot lid, shown in photos but generally, the car is very nice and looks as good underneath as it does on top.
Overall, the car is offered in very good condition, priced to sell, original UK-market RHD Austin Healey 100 with good provenance, extensive history file and a desirable specification. A wonderful opportunity to own a usable classic with documented restoration history and great character.
