Bill Rawles Classic Cars is pleased to offer for sale this 1955 Austin-Healey 100 BN1, registration KHJ 330. First registered in March 1955, this car has a known and well-documented history. It was purchased by a previous long-term owner in 1977 from a lock-up garage in Southsea for £180, including a collection of spares. A full restoration was completed in 1996.
We last sold this car approximately ten years ago to the current owner, who has since used and enjoyed it regularly. Over that time, the vehicle has been carefully maintained by us, with annual servicing and upkeep. The car benefits from a number of tasteful upgrades, including several 100M performance enhancements and a free-flow exhaust system fitted by our workshop around two years ago.
The BN1 3-speed gearbox, often misunderstood, performs very well in this example and adds to the car’s period character. The driving experience is strong and engaging, with the car always well-received by our team when it returns for maintenance.
Finished in smart black paintwork, the car is complemented by a bespoke red soft top and a matching interior. The bonnet louvres and leather strap add to its sporting appeal, while the Dunlop-style wheels provide a classic finishing touch.
