Austin-Healey 100 Race Car

We are pleased to offer this 1954 Austin-Healey 100 FIA race car, TRL 138 – a well-prepared, race-ready example with a strong competition history and recent professional development by leading Healey specialists. 

Originally built as a right-hand-drive BN1 for the UK market, TRL 138 was dispatched to P. Pike & Company, Exeter in 1954. The car was used as a road car before being converted for historic racing in the mid-2010s. Over the past decade, it has evolved into a reliable and competitive entrant in 1950s racing grids. 

Professional Race Preparation
Since 2021, the car has been maintained and further developed by Bill Rawles Classic Cars. Notable recent works include: 

• Full engine rebuild with a steel engine, running SU carburettors 

• Gearbox rebuild – straight-cut racing gearbox with overdrive 

• Upgraded roll cage with additional side-impact protection 

• Up-to-date Tillett race seats and harnesses 

• Fully plumbed-in fire extinguisher system 

TRL 138 has primarily competed in the Equipe Classic Racing series and is presented in excellent mechanical condition. It has not been raced in the past 12 months due to the owner’s focus on a Healey 100S, but the car remains fully race-prepped and ready for immediate use.

This Austin-Healey 100 holds strong eligibility for both national and international historic events and offers scope for conversion to fast road or rally specification with minor modifications.
