Austin-Healey 3000 MKII BN7
This Austin Healey 3000 MKII, built in 1961, is an excellent example of this timeless British sports car. The model variant is a low production volume BN7, the 2-seater variant, adding to this car’s sporting appeal. This is 1 of only 355 MKII BN7s’ built between 1961 and 1962. Originally 1 of 57 LHD cars built for export, the car is now RHD.
The paint and body work are of a very high quality, with minor blemishes shown in images supplied, which can be expected of a car of this age and at this price point. With its previous owner, multiple awards have been won at shows both general classic car shows and with the Austin-Healey Club.
A common issue with Healeys in general, but especially the BN7 is the limitation on the height of the driver, interestingly, this car has been adapted for a taller driver. A modification behind the seat to allow for the seats to be pushed back further on the rails than a standard Healey. Obviously, this does not limit the vehicle only to a taller driver as the seat can also be moved forward. As a result of this, the car is easily accessible for everyone, making it a very sought after 3000. Cobra bucket seats have also been installed for some extra side support.
It also comes with Harness seat belts, red to match the interior; and a spare wheel on the rear bulkhead.
Coming with an extensive service and MOT history, this car has been well maintained and loved, having regular services and check-ups. The car received new carpets and seats in 2011, as well as preparation for reliable road use. In 2014, the headlights were changed to Halogen bulbs, for improved low light visibility. From our workshop inspection, there are some minor observations which are detailed on our workshop report. This can be shared with any potential purchaser and rectification of these items can be discussed to included with purchase if required. However, none of these points effect the usability of the vehicle but have been highlighted as part of our transparent sales process as a reputable specialist dealer.
