Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII

We are pleased to present for sale this 1965 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII. Presented in British racing green exterior and a light tan interior. If you are looking for a usable Healey to drive in style and comfort, then look no further. With its hidden benefits and features, this car puts a smile on your face.
Built in 1965 and first registered in 1966, this Austin Healey was originally supplied as Ice blue and as a left-hand-drive export model for the American market. It spent much of its early life in Atlanta, Georgia, where it was enjoyed by its first owner. The car was later repatriated to the UK from California and purchased by its current owner in 2019. Over the past seven years, it has been regularly enjoyed on local events and leisure drives and has never been used in wet weather during its current ownership.
During this time, they have added numerous additions and improvements to the car including a left to right hand drive conversion, alternator conversion, electronic ignition, and an oil cooler. Together, these enhancements make the car far more practical for modern driving while retaining the character and charm for which the Healey is renowned.
Included with this sale are numerous invoices and documents kept by the car’s current owner, as well as their own personal documentation of servicing. Also included is this cars heritage certificate.
As mentioned earlier, this Healey features a few quirks that gives the car heaps of character. As shown on the photos, the previous owner has modified the centre console to discreetly hide the electric engine cooling fan controls and a phone charger with phone stand.
Behind the grate on the dash, a hidden fuel pump switch and an additional spare switch have been installed. Although the vehicle now operates with a single fuel pump, the spare switch provides an ideal opportunity for a future owner to fit a secondary pump, should they wish, as well as an additional security measure by shutting down the fuel pump.
Further enhancing comfort, this Healey is fitted with an inflatable lumbar support in the passenger. A small pump located beside the seat allows the level of support to be adjusted. Combing the comfortable seating, wind-up windows and desirable pram-style hood, this Healey is exceptionally well suited to touring and extended days behind the wheel.
This Healey is priced accordingly with our inspection and report process here at Bill Rawles Classic Cars. We have observed multiple deteriorated bushes, flawed paint finish and signs of corroded metalwork. A full vehicle report is available to be disclosed upon interest.
The 3000 MKIII is known for a good balance of performance, comfort, and style. This car is no exception. Whether for weekend touring, club events or simply enjoying the drive, this represents an excellent opportunity to own and drive one of Britain’s most iconic sports cars.
