Jack Rawles was crowned Healey Driver International winner of the 2016 Castle Combe Autumn Classic, after two very exciting Healey racers on a very wet day

Jack Rawles was crowned Healey Driver International winner of the 2016 Castle Combe Autumn Classic

How to drive a Healey in the rain: In 2016 Jack Rawles had quite a lot to live up to, considering that at the 2015 Castle Combe Autumn Classic, which was Jacks first time ever racing an Austin Healey 3000 and his first time at Castle Combe, he managed to put the car in pole position and finish the race second. Well in 2016 he achieved putting the car in pole position again and won both races. Jack said ” It is starting to sink in that I am the 2016 Healey Driver International winner… A massive thank you to all of my supporters and sponsors! Here is the onboard from Castle Combe, tricky conditions made more difficult when the radiator blew coolant over the windscreen, I could hardly see where I was going! I was pushed right to the end by Oliver Chatham and David Grace. Email enquiries to: jack@jackrawlesracing.com

Here is just a little bit more to read about the day, written by Motorsport Magazine Rain Hits Castle Combe Autumn Classic – Quote “Top drive on a day that should have played to the patience and guile of the older racers came from 19-year-old Jack Rawles, who handled his father’s Austin Healey 3000 in the way god intended: with arm fulls of opposite lock on the wet and slippery track. On his way to sealing the Healey Driver International crown Rawles won both Healey races by slender margins as marque aces Oliver Chatham and David Grace pressed hard”
